Directions: Where are we heading to?

Extended Reality via Next-Generation Mobility

Emerging forms of extended realities, including virtual, augmented, and mixed realities (VR, AR, and MRs), are being developed through devices that connect the physical world with the metaverse. Electric vehicles hold great promise as the device that can bridge this gap and offer users an immersive experience in the metaverse while being driven autonomously, regardless of driving conditions. However, realizing this potential requires extensive research and validation. In our group we focus on exploring the possibility of displays in electric vehicles as the gateway to the metaverse, and develop the necessary optoelectronic components to make it a reality.
